Mrs Parker-Thomas would like to share some of the wonderful work that she has received over the past few weeks. First of all some work on percentages…
These two pieces are responses to our literacy work on The Highwayman.
And here are some examples of the science work on evaporation…

Hello Year 6, I hope you and your families are well and that you have had a lovely Easter holiday. Have you eaten all your Easter eggs yet?
Thank you to everyone who has sent me their individual project plans. They all sound very interesting and I can’t wait to see the work you have come up with. There are quite a few projects you have chosen that I am very interested in.
Your 5 Ways to Wellbeing Plans were also lovely to see, particularly the ways in which you are managing to communicate with your family and friends at this difficult time. It was also great to see that you are filling your time with lots of interesting activities.
Thank you also for handing in your wonderful research – solids, liquids and gases plus Victorian Children at Work. Very detailed, relevant and well organised.
It is also good to see that you are all reading. I have had some great book quizzes and reviews of very good quality. Super! Hope you are also keeping up with your spellings and times tables.
As you already know, from the work already provided, over the coming weeks we will be looking at:
Literacy, Language and Communication
The Highwaymen by Alfred Noyce
Descriptive work on Robinson Crusoe – ‘No Escape!’
‘Kenzuke’s Kingdom’ by Michael Morpurgo.

Please check the Google Classroom stream daily to see new assignments.
There will be activities set on Active Learn, Sumdog and SeeSaw in addition to Google Classroom. See daily Google Classroom updates for further information.
I have tried to include a numeracy and literacy task each day plus project work. One task from your independent project work should be completed in a week.
Although the work provided can not replicate a school day, I have tried hard to give you lots of guidance, questions and clear SCs which I hope you will find helpful. Please read any instructions and SCs carefully.
Please don’t worry if you can’t complete everything. I have tried to cater for everyone but of course everyone is different and everyone has their own particular set of circumstances. For example, your parents may be working from home and you are not able to access a computer or your parent may be a key worker and you are being cared for in school. Therefore, you may not have as much time to complete your work.
I do understand and please don’t worry. Do what you can and particularly prioritise reading, spelling, numeracy and literacy tasks. Any problems, please email me. I am here to help and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I hope all this helps and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.
Take care everyone,
